Capital Bikeshare To Connect Fairfax, Starting With Reston

Transportation alternatives coming to Reston.

The Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) hosted a community meeting on the Reston Bike Share Project Thursday, Oct. 29, at Dogwood Elementary School, in Reston. It was an opportunity to meet Adam Lind, the county’s new Bicycle program manager.

Reston Hosts Sprint Triathlon

Community event benefits Cornerstones.

Sunday, May 31, was the date of the Ninth Annual Reston Sprint Triathlon. Proceeds from the event were donated to one of Reston's oldest, and Northern Virginia's most successful, nonprofit organizations, Cornerstones (formerly Reston Interfaith).

Dulles Now Screening for Deadly Virus

Local hospitals to treat ill passengers arriving from Africa.

Dulles International Airport was one of five airports in the nation to begin screening for Ebola last Thursday. The Center for Disease Control and Protection trained staff to check all passengers arriving from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone to check for signs of illness to prevent more passengers from infecting others during their daily interactions.

After two years of stalled plans, Norvus Residences is indefinitely deferring the revitalization of Lake Anne Fellowship House. According to a letter sent from the Fellowship Square Foundation Board of Directors, it was because the proposal did not have county support.
