Seniors Anas Fain, Eric Kirlew and Skander Ballard led 13 South Lakes High School athletes, who met conference, regional and/or state qualifying standards at the Liberty Elite Invitational indoor track and field meet, Saturday, Dec. 12 at Liberty University.
Reston Hospital Center Receives Chest Pain Center Accreditation
HCA Virginia’s Reston Hospital Center received full Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) with Resuscitation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC) on Nov. 11.
RN Golf Delay Request Denied
Restonians continue to protect Reston National Golf Course.
Circuit Court Judge Michael F. Devine denied the request of RN Golf, the owner of Reston National Golf Course, to delay issuance of the Court’s order finding that the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) lacked jurisdiction when it acted on RN Golf’s appeal of a County zoning letter earlier this year.

Paul R. Misencik Jr., a South Lakes High School graduate of 1986, competed in the grueling six-day Maroc Challenge, a motorcar rally across some of the most inhospitable, Sahara Desert terrain in Morocco.

Fairfax County has recently been advised by the Lake Anne revitalization project’s primary developer, Lake Anne Development Partners LLC (LADP), that their deal with the County may no longer be feasible.

Instead of the anticipated December groundbreaking for the ambitious revitalization of Lake Anne, the community was shocked by the news that Republic Land/Lake Anne Development Partners was dropping out of this public-private venture after months of effort failed to attract financing for the project.
