Assistance League of Northern Virginia invites community members to help pack food for its Weekend Food for Kids program. Program provides nonperishable food over the weekend to children who receive reduced price meals during the school year at Title I schools in Fairfax and Prince William Counties and the City of Alexandria. The 2016-17 Kickoff event is at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 15 at Dominion Virginia Power, 3072 Centreville Road, in Herndon. Arrive at 9:30 a.m. to help with setup.
