Herndon Football Falls to Robinson

The Herndon football team lost to Robinson 39-3 on Saturday, Oct. 24 at Herndon High School.

The loss dropped the Hornets’ record to 2-6 overall and 0-3 in Conference 5. Herndon has lost four straight since starting 2-1.

The Hornets will travel to face Westfield at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30. Herndon will wrap up the regular season with a home game against Oakton at 7 p.m. on Nov. 6.

Herndon Field Hockey Finishes Conference 5 Runner-Up

In a rematch of last season’s Conference 5 championship game, the Herndon field hockey team once again faced Westfield in the conference tournament final on Monday. This time, however, the Hornets fell short.

Herndon lost to Westfield 3-0 in the Conference 5 tournament final on Oct. 26 at Westfield High School. The Hornets (13-5) will enter the 6A North region tournament as the No. 2 seed from the conference and will host Osbourn in the opening round at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28.

South Lakes Football Defeats Langley

The South Lakes football team defeated Langley 48-42 on Oct. 23, improving its record to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in Conference 6.

The Seahawks will travel to face Hayfield, which is tied with Madison for first place in the conference with a 5-0 record, at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30.

South Lakes Volleyball to Conclude Regular Season

The South Lakes volleyball team will wrap up the regular season with a road match against Washington-Lee at 7:15 p.m.on Thursday, Oct. 29.

The Seahawks defeated Hayfield in three sets on Monday, improving their record to 10-4 overall and 4-2 in Conference 6. The conference tournament will begin next week.
